Sacramental Celebrations

Baptism

Baptisms are celebrated during or after the 4:30pm Mass on Saturday, or during or after the 11:30pm Mass on Sunday. Contact the Parish Office (304.242.1560 Ext. 0) to schedule the baptism and make arrangements for the required parent preparation session.

OCIA

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults process generally begins in September and meets weekly. This journey is for anyone who is unbaptized or baptized in another denomination and interested in possibly becoming a Catholic Christian. A similar program is offered for children (Parish School of Religion). Please contact the Parish Office for details and information.

Eucharist

First Eucharist is celebrated in May for children who are enrolled in second grade at either St. Michael Parish School or the Parish School of Religion.

Penance

First Penance is celebrated in November for children who are enrolled in second grade at either St. Michael Parish School or the Parish School of Religion.
The Sacrament of Penance is available from 3-4pm on Saturday, 8am on First Saturday, or by appointment.

Confirmation

Confirmation is celebrated in the spring for students in 8th grade who have completed preparation during their 8th grade year. Catholic adults who have not been confirmed should contact the Parish Office for preparation in order to be included in the celebration.

Anointing of the Sick

Arrangements can be made by contacting one of the priests at the Clergy Residence (304.905.1377) or the Parish Office (304.242.1560). Anyone anticipating surgery is encouraged to request this sacrament prior to entering the hospital. Parishioners who are homebound or living in a nursing care facility should contact the Clergy Residence or the Parish Office to arrange a pastoral visit.

Matrimony

Engaged couples should contact the Parish Office at least 6 months prior to the desired wedding date.
